Silverjade Canine Care is a fully insured, DBS‑checked, and canine first‑aid certified dog training and walking service based in Ponterwyd, West Wales. As a balanced dog trainer, I use a kind, fair, and adaptable approach to support both dogs and their owners. I’m proud to offer reliable, high‑quality, services including general dog and puppy training, personalised advice, pet gundog training groups, 1‑2‑1 sessions, and caring dog walks. Meet Rebekah

A lifelong animal lover whose journey with dogs and animals has taken me from a pet-filled childhood in Bristol to a dog walking mountain life in rural Wales. After an early start showing dogs up to Crufts and bonding with every creature I met (from stickleback fish to small furries to show ponies), my adult life has been just as animal-focused. Ive cared for and owned countless breeds — from Pomeranians, Rottweilers, and Setters to a majestic Boerboel — regularly stepping in to help friends, family, and even strangers in need.


As a trustee for the charity Refuge4Pets, Refuge4Pets, I supported survivors of domestic abuse by fostering their pets, transporting animals to safety, and raising funds through dog shows. I have also been a safe haven for rescue cats and dogs, all while juggling a full house of my own beloved animals.


My heart dog, Shadow the Weimaraner, was by my side for over 14 years, and the bond we shared still guides me today. Now, with my next Weimaraner, two Labradors, and five rescue cats, I am living my dream on 8 acres of Welsh mountainside — training and competing in working gundog tests and trials.


Whether Im out in the field, snuggled up with my cats, or feeding wild red kites from our garden, my life is built around compassion, connection, and canine companionship.

I will ensure you feel confident and supported moving forward.  Every dog in our care is treated as

we would treat our own, with love, affection, play, reward and a safe environment in which to flourish.

With over 40 years of experience with dogs, horses, cats, and small furries, I bring a lifetime of hands‑on knowledge to my work. I’ve cared for and handled a wide variety of dog breeds for many owners, and I’ve enjoyed taking part in showing, gundog work and competitions. This breadth of experience allows me to understand each animal as an individual and provide tailored care.

 

I am fully insured, DBS checked, and canine first-aid certified. I invest in regular, in‑person training and continued professional development to ensure my skills stay current and my knowledge continues to grow. This commitment allows me to provide the highest standard of care and support to every client and their dog.

My van is temperature controlled and fully kitted out to safely and comfortably transport your pets. 

 

The crates are crash tested by the manufacturer, have fans to encourage air flow, each has a rear escape hatch, fluffy blanket and low access with a rubber bumper mat to prevent slips when dogs are getting in or out.

We have 8 acres of fenced land here at Silverjade HQ which includes long grass fields with mown pathways, plenty of trees offering shade and the option to join carefully selected dogs for group training or book personalised 1-2-1 training sessions. 

Services

Known locally as 'The Dog Lady' I am your friendly neighbourhood Dog Trainer and Walker. I have listed some service costs but please feel free to call and discuss your dogs individual needs.
